Josh Golding
Owner

Josh is a registered social worker with over a decade of experience supporting children and youth with significant social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. A natural leader, he has built a strong foundation in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and mentoring other professionals. As the founder of Golding Family Supports, he brings an innovative approach to delivering high-quality support services that empower children and families.

Josh Groen (aka “Tall Josh”)
(he/him), Senior Respite Care Specialist

Josh is a highly experienced frontline professional with over 20 years of expertise working with children, youth, and adults with diverse disabilities. Having held roles at Woods Homes, Boys & Girls Clubs, and Vecova’s ultra-complex needs program, Josh excels at handling challenging situations and adapting to the unique needs of each individual. He is passionate about helping kids “fail successfully,” using challenges as opportunities for growth and resilience.


Karyn Slater
Operations Coordinator & Respite Care Specialist

Karyn combines over 20 years of professional and personal experience in the disability and child support fields. Her professional journey includes roles as an integration counsellor with Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association, a parent disability mentor with Ups and Downs Calgary, and the owner/operator of 321Joy, a small business she has run for nine years. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Intercultural Studies and a Master’s in Leadership. As the parent of a neurodiverse child for 13 years, she offers unique understanding and empathy toward families’ needs and challenges.

Justyna Sindrewicz
Respite Care Specialist
Justyna is a dedicated professional with over 20 years of experience supporting children, youth, and families. She has spent 12 years as a school support counsellor at Woods Homes, eight years as a family support worker with Assure Community Services, and three years as a program coordinator with Axis Family Resources. Her qualifications include a Sociology Degree with a Minor in Psychology, Mental Health First Aid, Brain Story Certification, and advanced training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and human trafficking prevention. Justyna takes great joy in helping kids grow through play and novel challenging experiences.


Ana Hoza
Respite Care Specialist
Ana is a compassionate and highly educated social worker with over 15 years of experience across Canada, the UK, and Romania. She holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Romania and a Child & Youth Care Counselling Diploma from Canada. Ana has worked as a school support counsellor at Woods Homes, a senior practitioner in adoption and fostering with Barnardo’s Cymru in the UK, and a social worker with Newport City Council’s Child and Family Services team. Her certifications include Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). Ana’s calm, reassuring demeanour and extensive experience make her a delight to have on board.
Kara Boda Harvey
Respite Care Specialist
Kara brings a wealth of experience working with children in various settings, from after-school programs and summer camps to nannying and volunteer roles. With a Bachelor's degree in History and a background in writing and communications, she transitioned into child and youth work during her time with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary (now Trellis), where she led after-school programs and summer camps for elementary-aged children. As a mother of three—two of whom are neurodivergent—Kara is deeply passionate about fostering safe, supportive environments where kids feel connected, valued, and empowered to grow.



Jacqueline Ferguson
Respite Care Specialist

Jacqueline brings over ten years of experience supporting children and youth in frontline educational and care roles. She has worked as an educational assistant with the Calgary Catholic School District, where she supported students with diverse needs, and has extensive experience in crisis response and behavioural support. With certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI), Jacqueline is skilled in fostering safe, inclusive environments. Her dedication to supporting the growth and well-being of children and youth makes her an essential part of the team.
Becky May
Respite Care Specialist
With over 18 years in early childhood education, Becky brings deep experience and a heartfelt commitment to child development. She has worked as a private nanny, preschool instructor, and advanced kindergarten leader — and for the past eight years, co-owned and ran daily operations at Rhyme and Reason Early Learning. Becky holds a Diploma in Early Learning and Child Care from Bow Valley College and believes early education is the foundation for lifelong success. She’s excited to bring her passion and warmth to Golding Family Supports, and looks forward to building strong connections with kids and families.


Nicole Erhardt
Respite Care Specialist
Nicole brings over nine years of frontline experience supporting children, youth, and adults in shelters, group care, and supportive housing. With a background in Criminal Justice, she’s developed strong skills in crisis response, trauma-informed care, and relationship building. Her work is grounded in a deep passion for emotional well-being and advocacy. Now returning to school to pursue a career in education, Nicole is excited to bring her calm presence, real-world insight, and commitment to inclusive support to her role at Golding Family Supports.
All staff at Golding Family Supports have a clean criminal record & vulnerable sector check and current First Aid Level “C.”
